Welcome to my practice
Welcome to my home page and thank you so much for visiting! I am a health educator based in the Health Education Department of the Kaiser Permanente San Jose Medical Center. I coordinate the adult weight management programs as well as our Healthier Living with Chronic Conditions series. I am so happy to be a part of weight management classes because they can benefit patients of all ages and backgrounds who are coping with a wide variety of health challenges. When patients are able to manage their weight their quality of life is improved, as well as their disease outcomes. Nutritious eating and an active lifestyle are the basic building blocks for a healthy life so I am very proud and excited to provide these resources to our members.
My Background
I have a B.A. in Social Ecology with a minor in Epidemiology and Public Health from the University of California, Irvine. Through this area of study I was able to learn about how our physical and social environments affect human behavior, lifestyle choices, and ultimately, our disease outcomes. After leaving UC Irvine I attended the University of Southern California to obtain my Masters in Public Health with an emphasis in Health Education and Health Promotion. While earning my Masters I developed a passion for diabetes and heart disease management and prevention. Therefore, Kaiser Permanente’s emphasis in promoting healthy behaviors provided a perfect fit for me.
My Interests
When I am not at work I enjoy spending time with my growing family. We like going to the park, taking walks with the dog, going swimming visiting friends and enjoying the sunshine.
My Recommendations
I highly encourage you to actively pursue new ways to improve your health and overall wellbeing. This means making positive life choices that allow you to lead an active lifestyle, find a healthy work/life balance, manage your stress and weight, put lots of care and love into your personal relationships and, or course, feed your body nutritiously. We have so many resources here at Kaiser Permanente San Jose to help you achieve your goals, so please, give us a call and we’ll help get your started!

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
