Welcome

I am very happy you decided to visit! I want this page to help you become familiar with me and my department even before we meet. I was born and raised in Fremont, California. I attended the University of California at Berkeley for my undergraduate and graduate career. I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Integrative Biology in 1992. I then attended the UC Berkeley School of Optometry and received my Doctor of Optometry Degree. During this time, I completed my internship at Oakland's Clinica De La Raza, Denver's Colorado Optometric Center, and the Palo Alto Veteran Hospital and Low Vision Clinic. Prior to joining Kaiser Permanente in 2001, I was an associate at an ophthalmology practice in San Francisco. Currently, I am a member of the UCBSO Alumni Association. Spanish is my second langauage.

In my spare time, I enjoy travel, gardening, nature, and church involvement. These activities are most enjoyable when my husband and children are involved.

I am proud to work at Kaiser Permanente with very skilled doctors and an exceptional staff. We are dedicated in working as a team to provide you with the best possible care. If you need to schedule an appointment or want further information, please phone us at 510-675-2023.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
