About Me

I was born and raised in Saigon, Vietnam. My family left Vietnam and came to the United States in 1975. I obtained my medical degree at University of California Irvine, School of Medicine, Irvine, CA. I then completed my internal medicine internship at Loma Linda University Medical Center, Loma Linda, CA followed by completed my anesthesiology residency at University of California Irvine Medical Center, Irvine, CA. I chose anesthesia because it requires understanding of pharmacology, physiology, critical care medicine, and the need of different surgical specialties. I enjoy direct contact with people. I cannot think of a better job that gives me the opportunity to take care of someone’s health and well being.

After eight years of practicing in both academic and private practices, Kaiser Permanente appears to be a solid organization with emphasis on preventative care. I came to the Central Valley because of its great weather, the friendly people and its diversity.

I am married with two sons. Both my husband and I have a very large extended family. When I am not working, I like playing tennis and cooking for my family and friends. I speak English and Vietnamese fluently.

My Philosophy of Care

I think of myself as a team player at Kaiser Permanente. My part is to make sure the patient is treated with respect and compassion. My duties as an anesthesiologist are to provide comfort when you are anxious about your surgery and to make sure your safety and quick recovery to good health.
