My Specialty and Why I Chose It

I am a Palliative Care physician. I work with people and the families of people who have complex or chronic medical conditions. My goal is to help people and their families understand their medical condition, assist them in making difficult decisions and help them identify how they can maintain a good quality of life.

My Practice Philosophy

I believe that every individual is unique with a unique set of values and should be treated with honesty, compassion and respect.

Why I Like Practicing Medicine at Kaiser Permanente

I have been with Kaiser Permanente since 2007. I chose to practice medicine with Kaiser Permanente because of the organization's emphasis on quality. In addition, I liked the idea of being in an environment where physicians and other healthcare providers work together as a team helping each other to learn and grow professionally.

Professional Interests & Affiliations

I am a member of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine and I have a strong interest in the relationship between social, emotional and physical health.

On a Personal Note. . .

I am married with 2 children. My family is extremely important to me. We enjoy having meals together and spending time outside exploring the natural beauty of the world. I also enjoy sitting with a cup of coffee and a good book or newspaper.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
