Welcome to my home page. I encourage you to take a few moments to review my general approach as well as my training and qualifications. I am very pleased to be a staff member with Kaiser Permanente San Rafael.

I practice in two departments within the San Rafael facility - the Department of Psychiatry and the Department of Pain Management. I have been employed with Kaiser Permanente since September 2001. I recently joined the staff at the San Rafael Department of Psychiatry. I was previously with the Pleasanton Department of Psychiatry where I was also the Director of Training for the Post-Doctoral Residency in Clinical Psychology.

My general approach to treatment is from a behavioral orientation. I am actively involved in the practice and research of depression, anxiety, and chemical dependency in adults. In fact, I have several professional publications in these areas. For the past four years I have taught courses in psychology at the University of California, Berkeley extension. I am currently working on two books. One addresses relationships and the other is a legal and ethical textbook for practitioners.

I received my doctoral graduate training at the University of San Francisco, San Francisco, CA. My pre-doctoral internship was completed at the Ioannis Lougaris Veteran's Affairs Medical Center in Reno, NV. The University of San Francisco program as well as the VA Medical Center in Reno are fully accredited by the American Psychological Association. My Post-Doctoral Residency in Clinical Psychology was with Kaiser Permanente, Department of Psychiatry. I am a licensed Psychologist (PSY 20124) in California which was granted by the California Board of Psychology.

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
