Welcome

Welcome to my home page and welcome to the Physical Therapy Department. My hope is that the information you glean from this page and related links acts to supplement the care that I provide you. I believe that the more you are informed and involved, the more successful you will be in your efforts to improve your function and/or decrease your pain. I look forward to serving you and providing you care that will help improve your health and well-being.

I have been an active member of the Physical Therapy Department here at Kaiser Fremont since I joined the Permanente Medical Group in 1992. In addition to providing care to my patients, as a Senior Physical Therapist, I have also served as a clinical instructor, helped develop and teach classes and provided consultation to my colleagues. Working with patients of various ages and from diverse cultures is a part of my job that I love. I enjoy what I do and have the privilege of doing it with a staff that I admire.

On a personal note, I was born in Greenwood, Mississippi and have been living in the Bay Area since the age of two. I am happily married and have two wonderful daughters. I have the privileges of raising my girls, serving at church and being an involved parent at my daughters’ school. When I find the time, I also enjoy traveling with my family, running, baking, photography/scrapbooking, movies and gardening.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
