My Biography

I believe that Kaiser Permanente offers the opportunity for a coordinated care system and an interdisciplinary collaboration that is unavailable in most other health care environments. I love the collegial team model we have within our department. I also enjoy the rich cultural mix that one expects in a cosmopolitan urban area like San Francisco.

My special focus area is eating disorders, a field in which I attend regular professional conferences whenever I can. I am particularly interested in adults who struggle with anorexia nervosa and bulimia. I am an eating Disorders Best Practices Representative for the San Francisco Medical Center. I truly believe in treating the whole person. Here is where Kaiser Permanente’s system of integrated care provides a terrific advantage. I work with nutritionists, physicians, and social workers to negotiate the biological, psychological, and social complexities of eating disorders.

Patients have many avenues available for care here. For example, we have a large number of classes available for patients and members, including yoga, Pilates, and stress management. I myself practice yoga and also meditation for peace of mind. Other hobbies include hiking, listening to music, going to movies, dancing, and partaking of artistic cultural events.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
