I was raised in Chicago, Illinois and completed all of my education and Physical Therapy training there. I attended the University of Illinois, Chicago, and in 1976 I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Health Science, Chicago Medical School.

I have spent my entire career specializing in Pediatric Physical Therapy. After working for 3 years at Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago, I moved to California and worked for the next 28 years at the California Children’s Services Medical Therapy Program. I am NDT trained for neurological care including Cerebral Palsy and infants.

I joined the Kaiser Rehabilitation Services staff in December 2007. My areas of interest are treatment of developmental delay, gait, and neurological rehabilitation. I am a strong believer in promoting healthy lifestyles for children. This includes safe sports with proper training and supervision, regular physical activities, (supervised or unsupervised) and good nutrition.

I also strongly support a back to basics approach in infant development. This includes ample time for babies to play on the floor to develop good core strength. To achieve this, I believe babies should spend minimal or zero amount of time in so called baby exercise equipment. Pediatric Physical Therapists have noted postural problems and delays in motor performance in young children who as babies spent many hours in “exersaucers”, baby walkers, and bouncing devices.

I am looking forward to working with you, and it is very important to me that all of your questions and concerns are addressed. I am happy to answer any questions you may have about your child’s motor development. I can be reached at (408)851-1481.

An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
