About Me

I have been a Kaiser member since I was 6 years old. Four generations of my family have had their health cared for by Kaiser Permanente. My grandfather was a surgeon at the Kaiser facility at Richmond many years ago. At an early age, I wanted to become a physician. Moreover, I wanted to be a Kaiser physician since I believed in the Kaiser philosophy that it is important to promote health as well as battle against illness.

After completing my undergraduate education at Stanford University, I headed to New York City to attend medical school at The Albert Einstein College of Medicine. I eventually spent the next 10 years of my life in New York completing fellowships in Pulmonary Diseases and Critical Care Medicine. It was not all bad, since that is where I also met my wife (but that is another story altogether!). It was then time to move back to a more pleasant and hospitable climate in California. My family and I have now lived in Stockton since 1993. We are extremely happy here and cannot imagine living anywhere else.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family. I enjoy reading a wide variety of books. I also keep telling myself that I will start playing the piano again.

My Philosophy

I love working at Kaiser where I can practice the type of medicine that I have always pictured. No bureaucrat has ever denied one of my patients any treatment that I thought was appropriate. Experts in nearly all fields of medicine are just down the hall or a phone call away. The staff that I work with every day are committed to go the extra mile in order to give our members the service that they need and deserve. This dedication is in step with my philosophy of care which is to treat you with the respect and care that I expect my own family to be treated by Kaiser Permanente.
