My Specialty and Why I Chose It

I am an emergency physician. This means that I have been trained to provide the public with specialized care in life threatening and emergency situations. When someone comes to the emergency department, they are trusting that physician to stabilize their situation and provide them with the information or resources to go from there. I chose this field because I want to be the doctor that can help you navigate through this stressful event.

My Practice Philosophy

I believe each patient deserves to be treated with respect and compassion. My chief concern is your immediate health and making sure I am able to address life threatening conditions. To prevent many ER visits, however, preventive care and health maintenance is very important. Other times, the unexpected occurs, and someone's health is traumatically or rapidly changed. As emergency physicians, we are here to rapidly treat, support and guide our patients when things go wrong. We are the safety net that catches those in need whenever the need comes! We are proud to be here for our community whenever called upon.

My Tenure with Kaiser Permanente

I am new to Kaiser Permanente, however my residency at UC Davis has given me the opportunity to work in Kaiser facilities since 2007. I have been looking forward to joining and am now excited to be part of Kaiser.

On a Personal Note. . .

I grew up in Anchorage, Alaska until I went off to college at the University of Nevada in Reno. I experienced Tahoe and Northern California for the first time. I have always been drawn to the people and landscape of this beautiful state. Since that time, I have traveled much of the world. I have participated in medical missions in Africa, Asia, the Middle East and helped those in need here in the U.S.

I went to medical school at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. There, I was able to bolster my appreciation for humanity by meeting some of the most brilliant minds from every ethnic and religious background you could think of! This is one of the reasons I came back to Sacramento and the Central Valley, as this is one of the most diverse and special areas of the country. I hope that I can continue to help people from all backgrounds and experiences...I find them fascinating and what makes our world a place I want to live in.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
