Welcome to My Internet Home Page

Hello and welcome to my home page! My name is Todd Davenport, and I am a physical therapist clinical specialist with the Department of Physical Therapy at the Kaiser Permanente Stockton Medical Offices.

About Me

I graduated from Willamette University in Salem, OR with bachelor of science degrees in exercise science – sports medicine and psychology in 1998. After achieving my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at the University Of Southern California (USC), Los Angeles, CA in 2002, I completed the residency in orthopedic physical therapy at USC in 2003. I worked as a clinical research fellow at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD, where I studied to test patients with a rare muscle disease. I am also a past departmental post-doctoral fellow, part-time faculty member, and residency mentor with the division of biokinesiology and physical therapy at USC. I am certified by The American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist in 2005. I am a member of the American Physical Therapy Association.

I am also a professor with the Department of Physical Therapy at University of the Pacific, Stockton, CA. At school, I teach students who are working to become physical therapists. The most important thing in my life is to spend time with my children and watch them grow. In addition to English, I also speak Spanish to help and to serve my patients better. (Para poder servirle mejor, si usted prefiere puedo conversar sobre sus problemas físicas en español.)

My Philosophy of Care

My job is to find ways to improve the way you move. As a physical therapist, I think that if you move better then you will feel better too. This will help to get you back to the things you want to do with less trouble. I am here to assist you and to help you move and feel better. The most important thing I can do is to listen to my patients. During your first visit, we will talk about the reason you are coming in. Next, I will gently test your flexibility, strength, balance, and other things that can affect your movement. Finally, I will explain my findings to you so that we can work together as a team to determine a plan that will work best for you. I think about my patients as equal partners in their health care, so your input is valuable to me in creating the best possible plan for you. I use exercises and hands-on ways to help you move and feel better. I believe these treatments can make the most lasting change in your health!
