Welcome to my home page!

My name is Terry Carr and I am an Adult Nurse Practitioner in the Department of Medicine. I work a few days a week in the Urgent Care Clinic which means I do not carry a formal panel of patients. Regardless of that I’m happy to share a bit about myself and hope the information we provide is helpful. I’ve been a nurse practitioner since 1988. Prior to joining the staff here in San Rafael I was engaged in private practice. Before becoming a nurse practitioner I worked as a registered nurse for seven years in a local intensive care unit.

I’m proud to be a member of such an outstanding department and medical group. Living in Marin and practicing at Kaiser has provided me not only a great location to work but also a wonderful opportunity to help serve the very community my family and I are a part of. My husband and I are busy raising two children. You could consider me the consummate “soccer mom” when I’m away from the clinic. Besides the full time job of raising a family we enjoy just about everything the outdoors of Marin has to offer from gardening to various sports activities.

Thanks for visiting me on the web. I hope you take advantage of the links we are able to offer. One of the key successes and reasons I came to Kaiser is our willingness and emphasis on promoting health rather than simply treating illness. Many of the links provided go to great lengths to help inform you and our membership so you might make wise decisions in managing your health. You can also refill prescriptions and even make an appointment from our web site. Have a look around, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised at what you might find. Thanks again for visiting my page and I look forward to our next appointment.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
