Welcome to My Home Page!

My name is Tamara Treisman and I have been a genetic counselor since 1991. I learned about this field when I was in high school in Anchorage, Alaska. I was so excited to learn about a profession which brought together the science of genetics and the ability to work with and participate in the care of individuals and families. What I did not know was how much the field of genetics and genetic counseling would grow over time. I have been fortunate to be part of such a dynamic profession where assisting families has always been the first goal.

I have lived in Fresno since 1991 when I took my first job after graduation. When I was a child, my family moved fairly regularly and I have been happy to set down roots and make Fresno my home. I began working for Kaiser Permanente in December of 2008 because I have always been impressed with Kaiser Permanente’s dedication to patients and patient care.

When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family. We enjoy ice skating, playing by the pool and visiting with friends and family.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
