My Interests

The sole reason I became a Physician was to work with people on a one to one basis and be able to affect their lives in a positive way. I am convinced that patient-physician partnership based on trust and open communication is required to successfully prevent or treat diseases.

My approach to good health is very simple: make friends, help others, eat healthy, exercise, and stay away from cigarettes and alcohol. Most diseases I treat on a daily basis are preventable with just the above steps.

I like working in Kaiser Permanente for a variety of reasons but the most important one for me is the independence I have to practice evidence based medicine for the sole benefit of my patients.

Travel

Whenever my wife and two kids allow me, I use my vacations to travel mostly to Africa on volunteer missions. I have founded and currently serve as President of a non-profit organization dedicated to organize volunteer physicians to serve in needy areas of Africa.

My Credentials

Medical school UC Davis School of Medicine, Davis, CA
Internship Kaiser Foundation Hospital, San Francisco, CA
Residency Kaiser Foundation Hospital, San Francisco, CA
Board certification Internal Medicine, American Board of Internal Medicine

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
