About Me

Thank you for looking at my home page. I view this page as a nice way to introduce myself to my patients. I chose to practice nephrology because the kidneys are the chemists of the body and perform many functions. Please feel free to access some of the Internet health care resources that I believe to be reliable (the links are located in the left margin area).

I grew up in Orinda, California, and attended college at the University of California, Berkeley (Go Bears!). After finishing my nephrology training at University of California Davis Medical Center in 2003, I was privileged to start my practice at Kaiser Permanente in Walnut Creek.

I am a member of the American Society of Nephrology, the International Society of Nephrology, and the American College of Physicians. I have offices at the Walnut Creek Medical Center and at the Antioch Medical Center - Deer Valley Offices. Kaiser Permanente’s fully integrated computer systems allow me to access laboratory data, radiology reports, and important dictations at either site. Both facilities have pharmacy, radiology, and laboratory services on site, allowing same day medication pick-up, x-rays or lab tests if needed.

My practice philosophy includes focusing on patient education. Having my patients understand the way their disease process works contributes to their quality of care.

My first language is English, but I am also fluent in Mandarin Chinese and Spanish.

My research and clinical interests include molecular biology. My personal interests include cooking, running, and reading mysteries.

My Credentials

Medical school New York Medical College, Valhalla, NY
Residency UC Davis Medical Center, Sacramento, CA
Fellowship UC Davis Medical Center, Sacramento, CA
Board certification Nephrology, American Board of Internal Medicine

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
