About me

I was born and raised in Russia. I had an interest in medicine from an early age and attended two years of medical school in Russia. The Russian college education system is different from that in the United States; students start medical school right after high school and it takes seven years to complete medical school. I came to the United States as a college exchange student in 1993. I graduated from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, with a bachelor’s of science in biology in 1998. During my collage years I met my husband and we decided to live in California. I received my medical degree from Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Vallejo, California, in 2002. I completed my internal medicine residency training at Kaiser Permanente’s Oakland hospital. I enjoyed my training at that facility, and it was a very easy decision for me to stay with Kaiser Permanente.

I have lived in Walnut Creek for more than six years and I was absolutely thrilled when I received a job offer from the Kaiser Walnut Creek facility. I am a hospital based specialist who joined a wonderful group of people. I enjoy my current job very much and feel great that I can serve my own local community.

I enjoy traveling, reading, down slope skiing, scuba diving, and spending time with my friends and family. Recently, my family and I have traveled to Asia. We have visited China, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand. It was my first trip to Asia and I was absolutely impressed with the culture, customs, interactions between people, and the food. I have many great memories from each country we visited. I like to read novels written by women, especially authors from the past and classical works. I find it to be a great way to relax and to escape reality for few hours. I try to stay fit even with a busy schedule. I have a treadmill at home that I promised myself I’d use every day, but so far haven’t been able to keep my promise. I also enjoy yoga and take a class every couple of weeks.

I encourage you to find ways to relax, to stay fit, and to thrive - Kaiser Permanente has great resources you can tap into. For more information, click here and also take some time to explore the excellent links to the left in the navigation bar.
