My Biography

I came to Kaiser Permanente in search for the Chinese patient population. I always appreciated the advantages of the comprehensive system over a PPO model.

In my department, we have a Chinese-speaking staff. We also have medical pamphlets and booklets in Chinese. We offer over 70 Chinese classes per year. I work closely with the doctors and specialists in creating Chinese curricula addressing diabetes, cholesterol, hypertension, and all kinds of chronic care issues. In addition to teaching, I enjoy one-on-one contact with patients.

When I am away from work, I enjoy hiking, reading literature, and playing the piano. I thrive by playing volleyball and trying to exercise regularly. I have managed to quit coffee, and I now drink green tea!

Other Languages: Cantonese
Undergraduate Education: BS in Health Science/Community Health, San Francisco State University
Internship: Chinatown Public Health (1994)

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
