About Me…

Welcome to my home page. I am honored with your visit. Helping children, their families, and their communities thrive led me to choose pediatrics as a specialty. I enjoy watching children and their families grow as they develop their gifts. My relationship with children and their families is important.

I’ve worked with Kaiser Permanente since 1991. I feel fortunate to work for a health care system that offers the highest quality care. As Kaiser is an integrated and not-for-profit program, I use outstanding specialists as needed for patient care. Kaiser’s research, education, and information technology help me to grow and give my patients the most up to date care.

Born and raised in Michigan, I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan. Prior to medical school, I did research in immunology at the Michigan Cancer Foundation and Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago. I earned my medical degree from Northwestern University School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. Next, I completed my residency training at White Memorial Medical Center, Los Angeles. My professional memberships include the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Adolescent Medicine Section of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children.

At Kaiser, I work in the Teen Clinic, teach asthma education classes and facilitate parenting classes. Also, I treat ADHD, Eating Disorders and do weight/fitness management.

Prior to working at Kaiser, I worked at the Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall and the Children’s Shelter. For over 10 years, I have been a member of the Santa Clara County Sexual Assault Team at Valley Medical Center. In addition, I serve on the Advisory Board of Parents Helping Parents Touchstone Program.

I believe parents can learn to work with the individual child’s temperament and talents. To help children heal and thrive, I enjoy helping parents with communication skills, creative expression and the creation of positive energy. Also, I support parents in their home teaching endeavors.

When not practicing medicine, I dance in a performance dance team, teach art appreciation and hands on art in elementary schools, and direct the conflict management program at my daughter’s school. I enjoy supporting my daughter’s academic, athletic, artistic and spiritual growth.

In addition to English, I also speak Spanish, French, and Romanian.

My Philosophy of Care...

As a pediatrician, my relationship with my patients and their parents is very important. Keeping your children healthy and preventing illness are the reasons I chose Pediatrics for my life’s work. I know you have a choice among many excellent pediatricians and I appreciate your trust in me.

My Recommendations...

I encourage you to actively participate in your child’s/children’s health care. Taking advantage of our preventive care, immunization, and regular well care visits in a great place to start. I believe that immunizations are the building blocks to your child’s/children’s well care. Following the immunization recommendations for your child’s age group can help prevent serious health problems. Please remember to bring your children’s yellow immunization cards or a copy of the immunization records with each visit.
