About Me

Hello, I am Susan Villa. Welcome to my home page. My specialty is Internal Medicine, with a special interest in Geriatric Medicine.

I began my career with Kaiser Permanente after completing my training at UC Davis in 1989. I chose Kaiser primarily because I wanted to practice pure medicine, with no concerns about billing or office management. I have stayed with Kaiser because these things are still important to me, but even more, because I believe that the care delivered is truly excellent, with unusually good channels of communication between specialties and points of care.

I worked in primary care until 2002 when I was granted a 1-year sabbatical to pursue interests in spirituality and personal growth. Since my return to work in July 2003, I have been practicing primarily in the nursing home setting. I have very much enjoyed this transition and look forward to continuing to meet the diverse medical as well as social challenges of nursing home care.

Joined Kaiser in: 1990
Other languages: Spanish

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
