Welcome to my home page! Feel free to read more below about my background and services in the clinic. Check out the side links for additional resources and information about mental health.

Born and raised on the central coast of California in a rural community, I’ve always been attracted to the beauty of our natural world. I grew up hiking, camping, and surfing; all activities that I still enjoy whenever time affords! Maintaining an active and healthy lifestyle is essential to my well-being. Additionally, I have a deep appreciation for music, dancing, books, and highly value my relationships with family and friends.

I attended the University of California, Santa Cruz, initially studying biology and environmental science, but graduated with a degree in psychology. A foundation in science along with my curiosity about human experiences led me to this fascinating and enriching career path. It is an honor to spend time with my clients; I never cease to be amazed and impressed with the strength that people exhibit in challenging situations. I completed my Masters and Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology at the Wright Institute in Berkeley, CA which provided the opportunity to gain diverse experiences in a number of areas within psychology. (PSY23846)

Clinical psychology is the scientific study of human behaviors, thoughts and feelings, including the maladaptive and adaptive ways that we deal with life. Mental health can be influenced by a number of factors including biological, social, medical, cultural, and environmental. The advantage of working for Kaiser Permenente in an integrated care system is the opportunity to approach mental health from multiple perspectives leading to optimum care for each patient. I completed my post-doctoral training at Kaiser Permanente in Redwood City and feel fortunate to have been hired here. I have incredible colleagues and enjoy working together using evidence-based treatments that incorporate a variety of modalities including medication, individual interventions, group treatments, and health education classes. We offer several excellent group treatment approaches to teach skills for managing symptoms and to gain support from others; reducing the isolation and stigma that can often accompany mental health problems.

As a psychologist, I view my role as a guide and facilitator focused on helping patients achieve their goals, reduce stress, gain perspective, and find balance in life. It is my belief that treatment is most effective when a collaborative therapeutic relationship is built based on mutual respect and honesty. My stance is to be non-judgmental and my goal is to understand more about you and what could be of help. I am involved with the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) providing crisis stabilization and lead groups to help patients manage psychiatric conditions such as bipolar, anxiety, depression, and schizophrenia. Additionally, I coordinate the ADHD screening clinic for adults, providing information and testing for ADHD. If you are interested in booking an appointment or learning more about services in the department, you can reach our appointment desk Monday through Friday 9am-5pm at 299-4719.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
