My Qualifications

Welcome to the Folsom Department of Pediatrics and my practice. I am pleased to have this opportunity to participate in your healthcare and thought you might be interested in learning more about me and my background. I obtained my Masters Degree in Nursing as well as my license to practice as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) from the University of California, San Francisco. I am also a lactation consultant, and I enjoy all aspects of pediatrics and have a special interest in newborns and growth and development.

My Healthcare Practice

I have worked for Kaiser Permanente since 1985, beginning as a nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and on the Pediatrics Ward before becoming a PNP. The best thing about being a nurse practitioner at Kaiser Permanente is the type of care and practice that Kaiser Permanente enables us to establish. Also, as a member, I am so thankful for the accessibility of care and services. Being given appointments in a timely manner and having the accessibility of Pharmacy, x-rays, labs, etc., all in the same building is great.

I absolutely love my job. I look forward to each day because of the professionalism and camaraderie of my co-workers. I look forward to helping my patients and their families with their illnesses, concerns, and issues. I come away each day with a sense of accomplishment and the knowledge that I provided great care and service to our members. I enjoy my patients and their families, and I am honored to be a part of their lives.

My Outside Interests

Away from the office, I love to travel with my husband and family. I have been married over 23 years and have a daughter in college and a son who will graduate from high school this year. I also enjoy reading, gardening, and cooking. My passion is running, and I have completed over 15 marathons and recently started cross training into triathlons.

An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
