About Me

I have been a nurse for 24 years. I became a Licensed Vocational Nurse in 1979, at Rogue Community College in Grants Pass, Oregon. I received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Samuel Merritt/St. Mary's Hospital in 1986. I received my Master's degree in Nursing with a specialty in Anesthesia from the University of California, San Francisco in 1995. I am a member of the California Association of Nurse Anesthetists, as well as the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists. I have worked my way up in the medical profession and enjoy the challenge of doing an excellent job each and every day.

I began working at Kaiser Permanente in September, 1995 at Sacramento Medical Center on Morse Ave. I came to Kaiser Permanente in Vallejo in October 2001. I've lived in Vallejo for 15 years and I really like working in the community I live in.

The Anesthesia and Surgical departments are very cohesive, which makes for an enjoyable work environment. My professional goals are to provide a safe and comfortable anesthetic for every patient, continually improve my anesthetic technique, and to challenge myself in new roles within the department.

A personal goal of mine is centered at the public library. I am starting to tutor English to adults. I sincerely hope I can do a good job in this mentoring role. Reading is one of the most important skills that one can have.

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
