About Me
My desire to become a doctor came out of being a patient. When I had a health issue, my doctor was as caring as he was competent, and his approach made all the difference to me in how well cared for I felt. I wanted to be able to provide that level of care to others. Now as an emergency medicine doctor, I feel I have a unique opportunity to help patients who are truly in their hour of need. My goal is to take care of the total patient with a focus on giving them whatever tools they need to be active participants in their care. I also very much enjoy the variety of patients and patient care issues that arise.
I think we do a very good job of caring for patients. Our team of providers - from the doctors to the nurses to the clerks to the technicians – is extremely hard working and dedicated to providing great patient care. Also, the availability of extensive medical records and the wealth of providers available for follow-up care are especially important tools for delivering quality care. In particular, I have a clinical interest in disaster medicine and the management of the difficult airway.
When I’m not at work, I enjoy a variety of activities including skiing, running, ashtanga yoga, reading, traveling, movies, music, and spending time with family and friends. I also work with at-risk youth to introduce them to the possibility of careers in the health care field.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
