Welcome to my Home Page!
Please feel free to navigate through the links I have provided on the left-hand side of this home page. These links contain reliable information on Anesthesiology as well as information on Kaiser Permanente resources.
Born in China, raised and educated in Hong Kong, I came to the United States for post-graduate medical training in 1991. Having completed residency in Internal Medicine and Anesthesiology, a fellowship in Pain Management, and practicing two years in a community hospital, I joined The Permanente Medical Group in Redwood City and became a member of the Anesthesia Care Team.
We, as anesthesiologists, watch while our patients are "sleeping". We fly our patients through the sky of a surgical journey, be it peaceful or stormy. That is what we do day in and day out. Patient safety is our top priority. We do our best to ensure that every patient's surgical journey is the safest possible. If the unexpected arises, we are ready to deal with it. We have expanded our practice from the operating room, to preoperative clinic where we prepare our patients for surgery,to the hospital wards where we provide post-operative pain control. A small , but important part of my clinical practice is working with other physicians and staff to help patients with chronic pain management.
I have been working at the Redwood City Medical Center since the Year 2000. This is the place I love to work , the place my wife and children get their care, the place where every staff member aims to provide quality care, the place where our members thrive.
I enjoy spending my spare time with my family. I love to take my children out for tennis, swimming, biking. I take a lot of their pictures. Tennis is my favorite sport. I have met Kaiser Permanente members, including one of my patients, on tennis courts.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
