I am happy to be part of an excellent group of physicians, nurses, and therapists at the Elk Grove Medical Offices. Before joining Kaiser Permanente, I was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at University of Texas, Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas. I had my medical training at India and completed my residency in Psychiatry at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and Parkland Hospital. My speciality is in adult psychopharmacology.

My philosophy is that psychiatric care encompasses three major fields: Biological, Psychological, and Social. I believe in an integrated systems approach to human behavior and disease. The biological system deals with anatomical structures, molecular substrates, and the effects on functioning. The psychological component takes into account the effects of psychodynamic factors, motivation, and personality on the experience and reaction to illness. The social system examines cultural, environment, and familial influences on the experience and expression of illness. I believe that all the three systems affect one another.

I am a strong advocate for the mentally ill. I am also fluent in a number of languages from the Indian sub-continent.

My Credentials

Medical school Gs Medical College, Bombay, India
Internship Sinai Samaritan Medical Center, Milwaukee, WI
Residency University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, Dallas, TX
Board certification Psychiatry, American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
