Welcome to my webpage Not only will my page tell you a little something about me but I have also included useful links on the left hand side about Physicial and Occupational Therapy.

Born in South Bend, Indiana, I received my education in the Mid-West. The undergraduate degree was from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; graduate degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology was from Indiana University in Bloomington. In 1972 I moved to San Francisco where I began my career as a Speech Pathologist. I married in 1974 and my husband and I settled on the Peninsula and raised our daughter and son.

My extensive experience includes schools, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, acute rehabilitation, home care and out patient therapy. I have been under contract with Kaiser Permanente in Redwood City, South San Francisco and San Francisco for about 10 years. It wasn’t until April 2004 that Kaiser Permanente in Redwood City added a Speech Therapy department and I became an employee! It has been exciting and rewarding to be a part of such a truly professional organization. I am a member of ASHA and CSHA (American and California Speech and Hearing Associations).

I particularly enjoy working with the adult population who have suffered from strokes, head injuries, and a wide variety of neurological diagnoses. My philosophy is to treat each and every patient/client as a unique person with individual needs. Further as a part of a team, it is important to coordinate mutual goals for optimal functional return.

In my free time, I enjoy golf, cooking, exercise, board games, being with friends and most of all my family……which now includes my 4-year-old grandson.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
