My Specialty and Why I Chose It

I am a pediatric endocrinologist. This means that I see children with hormonal issues like diabetes, adrenal, growth, puberty, pituitary and thyroid problems. The reason I chose this field is two fold; it gives me immense satisfaction to treat children with chronic disorders and to make a difference in their lives, secondly, it is a rapidly evolving field which is very challenging.

My Practice Philosophy

I value an open and honest relationship with my patients and their care givers. I would like to educate my patients with the knowledge that I have and together make a decision that would be best suited for them.

My Tenure with Kaiser Permanente

I have been with Kaiser Permanente since November 2009. After my fellowship training at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, I went to Shreveport, Louisiana in 2004 and have been practicing pediatric endocrinology at LSUHSC.

I came to Kaiser Permanente to be closer to my friends and family and to practice medicine based on evidence and with a multi disciplinary team approach.

On a Personal Note

I can speak multiple languages and I love hot weather. My favorite pastime is taking a walk with my husband and my dog. I love my job. Taking care of children and seeing them get better and living as normal a life as possible is very gratifying. I hope to bring my previous experiences to Kaiser Permanente and at the same time learn a lot from Kaiser Permanente and become an overall better physician and a good team player.
