Welcome to my practice…

Welcome and thank you for taking the time to find out a bit more about me. I hope you find the information useful. I chose to specialize in orthopaedic spine surgery because I find this field to be extremely rewarding. I feel that I will be able to contribute to the ongoing evolution in the treatment of spinal disorders. I know that you have a choice among many excellent physicians and I appreciate your trust in me. I would like to further that trust by sharing with you my background and qualifications.

My Background:

I am a true “Bay area” native. I went to medical school at the University of Michigan; in addition, I accomplished my orthopaedic surgery residency and spine surgery fellowship at Stanford University. In 2003, I helped establish the spine center at Kaiser Permanente in San Diego. I am currently working at Kaiser Permanente in San Jose and helping develop a Regional Spine Center of Excellence.

My Recommendations:

I encourage every member to work hard at maintaining good health. Make sure that you are eating healthy meals, exercising and avoid tobacco. I advise members to take advantage of the services that are offered by Kaiser. We are genuinely interested in helping you preserve your good health. With regard to spinal disorders, seek a professional opinion early and get as much information as you can. Don’t be afraid to ask questions or get more than one opinion.

My Credentials

Medical school University of Michigan School of Medicine, Ann Arbor, MI
Residency Stanford University, Stanford, CA
Fellowship Stanford University School of Medicine, Stanford, CA
Board certification Orthopedic Surgery, American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
