Hello! I’m Dr. Steve Nguyen, a board certified medical internist. I have worked as a hospitalist at Kaiser Santa Clara since 2004. I am also involved in the medical education of interns, residents, and medical students here at Kaiser Santa Clara. Hence, during your stay you may meet multiple physicians who are working together with me to try to take the very best care of you.

A little about myself: I grew up and was raised in Santa Clara County. Though I have received my education throughout California, I always knew I would return to my home area and help my community by trying to provide excellent medical care. I speak conversational Vietnamese and enjoy playing sports, particularly tennis and basketball.

I perceive it as a privilege to care for ill patients and I strive to provide the best quality care that is possible. I believe being a physician is more than diagnosing and treating illnesses, it is also being humane and attentive to your needs, fears, and concerns.

My Credentials

Medical school UC Irvine School of Medicine, Irvine, CA
Residency Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, San Jose, CA
Board certification Internal Medicine, American Board of Internal Medicine

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
