Biography
Dr. Fisk was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. He attended Yale University where he graduated magna cum laude with a BS degree in chemistry. Dr. Fisk received a PhD in theoretical physical chemistry from Stanford University. He was a National Institute on Health Postdoctoral Fellow in theoretical physics at Cornell University and taught theoretical chemistry and biophysics at the Oregon Graduate Center. Dr. Fisk received his medical degree from the University of Miami. He completed his residency in anesthesia and a fellowship in Critical Care Medicine at Stanford University where he also served as Chief Resident.
He has published multiple articles in both physics and medical journals. Dr. Fisk is a Fellow of the College of Chest Physicians and is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiology, the Society of Critical Care Anesthesiologists, and the Society of Critical Care Medicine. He is also the Clinical Professor of Anesthesia at the Stanford University Medical School.
Dr. Fisk joined The Permanente Medical Group in 1977. He is currently the Medical Director of Adult Critical Care and is a member of both the Departments of Anesthesia and Integrative Medicine/Pain Management.
In his leisure time, he enjoys all kinds of outdoor activities including biking, climbing, hiking, and running.
