My Biography

Medical Education: Duke University School of Medicine, Durham, NC
Internship/Residency: San Mateo County General Hospital
Board Certification: American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Psychiatry
Joined Kaiser Permanente: August, 1996

I am originally from Los Angeles. I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of California at San Diego where I received a B.A. in Animal Physiology. After working as a statistician for two years, I attended Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, before returning to California to do my residency.

I have been a staff psychiatrist at Kaiser Medical Center in South San Francisco since 2000, having migrated north from the Kaiser Medical Center in Redwood City where I began my Kaiser career in 1996. I work with adults in an integrated multidisciplinary outpatient clinic.

The focus of my work is on diagnostic assessment, psychotropic medication treatment and consultation to other medical center departments in the coordinated care of patients with coexisting medical and psychiatric needs.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
