Welcome to my Home Page!

I was born in the Philippines and raised on the small island of Guam, one of the Micronesian islands in the Pacific, until the age of 14 when my family relocated to San Francisco. As I began to pursue a career in medicine, I obtained my undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences from UC Davis, and subsequently graduated from medical school at Western University of Health Sciences in southern California. In 2001, I returned to San Francisco to be closer to my family and started my residency at St. Mary’s Medical Center in the city. I enjoyed internal medicine and my residency program a great deal and was given the honor of serving an extra year as Chief Medical Resident from 2004-2005.

I became a Hospital Based Specialist at Kaiser Redwood City in August 2005. I joined Kaiser Permanente because it affords me: 1) the opportunity to work with very intelligent, gifted, and compassionate medical professionals, 2) the ability to use the latest advances in medical technology and treatment, and 3) the privilege of taking care of patients from different socioeconomic backgrounds and cultures. I am extremely excited that as a Hospital Based Specialist I am able to provide immediate care and see my patients respond to those treatments.

I am Board Certified in Internal Medicine since August 2004. Moreover, I am currently a member of the American College of Physicians, American Osteopathic Association and the American Medical Association. My professional interests are preventive medicine and cardiovascular disease. I have done my research in pulmonary hypertension and congestive heart failure.

When not practicing medicine, I love to dance jazz, ballet and hip-hop. As for my other interests, I love watching movies, playing the piano, cooking, reading novels, and traveling. In January 2005, my husband and I welcomed our first child. To no surprise, I have had to modify many of extracurricular activities so that I can spend the majority of my free time bonding with my son. Without a doubt, I am more than thrilled to watch him reach his different developmental milestones.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
