Welcome to My Internet Home Page

Hello and welcome to my clinician home page. My name is Saundra Romano and I am one of the MultiFit Cardiac Rehabilitation Care Managers in the Central Valley Area. My Program Assistant is Mary McClelland. I hope that you will find this site helpful in assisting you with your health care needs regarding heart health.

About Me

I completed my associate degree in nursing from San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton, CA and received my bachelor of science degree in nursing from San Jose State University, San Jose, CA. Prior to working for Kaiser Permanente in 2001, I had nine years of acute care experience working in several hospitals in California. I worked in the Cardiovascular Pulmonary Unit, Cardiac Intensive Care Unit and in Intensive Care Unit float pool. My entire nursing career has been working with heart patients.

I have a wonderful husband and a beautiful son. In my spare time I enjoy going to the Sacramento Kings' games, traveling, boating, fishing, and spending time with my family and friends. Our favorite travel destination is beautiful Hawaii to visit ‘ohana (family).

My Philosophy of Care

I believe in treating my patients with the utmost respect. I am here to assist you with encouragement and support after your recent cardiac event, and coach you in aspects of healthy nutrition, exercise guidelines, medication, cholesterol and hypertension management. I will help you discover positive lifestyle changes.

More Information on MultiFit Program

The MultiFit Program is by physician referral only. If you have had a recent heart attack, angioplasty, stent placement, coronary artery bypass surgery or had been diagnosed with coronary artery disease within the last six months, you can ask your primary care provider to refer you to the program or you can call the Chronic Conditions Management Department.

If you qualify for the MultiFit Program, there are two classes to attend regarding all aspects of cardiac rehabilitation and nutrition, and follow up will be for six to 12 months mainly by telephone. It is a pleasure to be of service to you. I look forward to working with you.

Thank you for visiting my home page. Your comments and suggestions are always welcome and I look forward to seeing you.

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
