About Me

I received my bachelor's degree in Psychology from Cal State Hayward in 1994, graduated with my doctorate from the California School of Professional Psychology in 1999, and became licensed as a Clinical Psychologist in 2001 (PSY17518).

My clinical training experiences included pre-doctoral internships at the Kaiser Permanente Vallejo Chemical Dependency Recovery Program in 1997-98, and at the Counseling and Student Development Center at Northern Illinois University NIU) in Dekalb, Illinois, from 1998-99. I accepted a temporary staff position at NIU in 1999, working as the coordinator of the Sexual Assault Education Program, and then moved back to California to complete a post-doctoral training position at the Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara Chemical Dependency Recovery Program from 2000-2001.

I was on staff at Kaiser Permanente Redwood City as a Psychologist in Chemical Dependency Services from 2001-2002 and then moved on to become the manager of the Chemical Dependency Services at Kaiser Permanente Vacaville from 2002-2010. In January of 2010, I became the Program Director of the Chemical Dependency Recovery Program in Vallejo. In addition to the training and experience I have assisting people in their recovery from drug and alcohol problems, I also have specialized training in the treatment of eating disorders.

Working in the field of chemical and co-dependency recovery is a very important aspect of my life. I find my work to be both challenging and extremely rewarding. I have invested a great deal of my life preparing for the professional position I currently hold, and take the responsibility inherent in my work very seriously. There is nothing more meaningful for me than being able to help people change themselves and their lives in profound ways, and I am very grateful that I have the opportunity to help guide people through the recovery process.

Outside my professional life I enjoy spending time with friends and family (including my four cats), reading, relaxing as much as possible, and attempting to find as much humor in life as I can.
