About Me

I was born in Seoul, Korea and moved to the United States in 1971 with my family. I spent my teenage years in Monterey, California. I went to UC Davis where I received my Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry. I then went to medical school in Los Angeles. After also finishing my internship in Los Angeles, I completed my residency in radiology in Santa Clara. I joined Kaiser Permanente in 1991 and have been very happy to be part of an innovative medical group that is truly dedicated to delivering quality health care.

I met my wife, Kathy, in medical school and have been happily married for more than twenty years. Kathy also practices at Kaiser Permanente as an ophthalmologist. I have two children, Matthew and Rachel. In my spare time, I enjoy playing golf, watching movies and spending time with my family.

I have always been intrigued by computers, new gadgets and high tech equipment. It seems fitting that I am in a field of medicine that has undergone an explosion of new technology. Some of the advances in MRI, CT and interventional radiology are truly amazing. I feel lucky that I get to work in a medical group that encourages new technology and provides the most current state of the art equipment.

I am also a member of the Radiological Society of North America.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
