Welcome to My Practice...
I have been with Kaiser Permanente Medical Group since 1993 and have enjoyed working since then, as this organization allows for superb teamwork amongst patients, doctors and other healthcare providers. This environment promotes lifelong health and wellness to its members. I am looking forward to many more years of the same.
About Me
Growing up in India, I watched my mother practice medicine with caring and compassion, and she continued to be a source of great inspiration for me. Hence, medicine came as a natural choice for a career. I received my medical degree from Bombay University, India. I did a few years of post-graduate clinical training in Pediatrics in India. My internship was at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, followed by an Internal Medicine Residency at Kaiser Permanente in Santa Clara.
My Clinical Interests are definitely preventive medicine and as a primary care physician, I feel it is my responsibility to keep my patients healthy... today and tomorrow.
My Philosophy of Care is simple... "Health is Wealth." Thus, I emphasize health education and preventive medicine with my patients. The key to healthcare requires attention to both body and mind. I aim to provide personalized care with concern for each patient's physical and mental well being, in addition to giving them timely access to medical service, with appropriate follow-up. I find that the best decisions are made together by the patient and the physician.
Here are a few tips to get the most out of your appointment and care...
- Please know the medicines you are taking. If you cannot remember them, please write them down and bring them to your appointment to review.
- Please do ask me to clarify if your understanding of our prescription plan is not clear.
- Your health requires your active participation. Please review the "Preventive Health Prompt" on your registration slip and ask me if you are due for preventive care.
- I usually send test results by mail or call you personally to discuss them. If you have not heard from me within a reasonable period of time, please do call and check with me.
- Do try to eat healthy and get regular exercise.
On a Personal Note
Outside of my clinical work, I am busy with my husband and two children. I enjoy gardening and the outdoor very much, and going for hikes with my family. I speak fluent English, Hindi and some Marathi.

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
