About Me

I grew up in San Francisco, California and have had the privilege of practicing at Kaiser Permanente since 1988. I'm a member of the Society of Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology, American Roentgen Ray Society, American Society of Neuroradiology, Alameda-Contra Costa Medical Association, and California Medical Association.

In addition to seeing patients for the department of Diagnostic Imaging, I also serve as Chairman of the Regional Imaging Utilization Committee, Kaiser Federation Co-Chair on Imaging Utilization for Health Connect. Councilor of the Alameda-Contra Costa Medical Association, and Delegate to the California Medical Association.

I aspire to treat all members with my undivided attention and return them home to their love ones in the most expedient fashion.

I strongly believe in maximizing the efficient use of our precious resources, especially in regards to imaging studies. Doing the right test the first time will allow more rapid access to needed imaging studies for ALL members.

With increasing awareness of the negative impact of obesity, hypertension & diabetes on the quality of life, I continue to promote a healthy lifestyle for our members. I regularly advise members on: smoking cessation, exercise regularly, eat in moderation and follow through on the recommended screening examinations.

My other research and clinical interests include: maximize the usefulness of electronic medical records, streamline distribution of electronic data. Promote sharing of best imaging practices throughout the various Kaiser Permanente regions. I also closely follow our local and national trends on health care and provide input via direct participation through the legislative process of the California Medical Association.

My personal interests include: walking, bicycling, hiking, skiing, reading, spending time with family and friends.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
