Welcome to My Home Page!

I had joined Kaiser Permanente in 1991 after practicing Psychiatry in various other settings. After a brief stint in the U.S Navy, after graduating from residency, I came to the Bay Area and established a private practice in both hospital and office based Psychiatry. Although rewarding in many respects, I found these settings rather isolating and lacking the opportunity to work along side other professions in the field. I then commingled this activity with consultation and clinical work with the Alameda County Mental Health system which more fully rounded out my professional activities and enabled me to experience directly most aspects of public and private work in my field.

I was most pleased when the opportunity to join the Mental Health Department in Walnut Creek presented itself. Although my career had certainly been fulfilling until that point, I recognized the unique advantages this organization presents to it's clinical providers. It has enabled me to work within a team of exceptional and dedicated individuals to deliver the consistent, high caliber care that is so important to me as well as to my patients. I find this fully integrated, group practice setting to be the ideal environment in which to spend my professional career, and hope any and all experiences you have within the Kaiser Permanente system will meet or exceed all your expectations!

When I am away from my work here, I enjoy time with my family, traveling, playing tennis, and becoming proficient in all forms of digital technology. Thank you for visiting my web page and taking time to read this.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
