My Biography
I joined Kaiser Permanente after more than 10 years in private practice, to work with physicians I have known and respected for years. Their vision of the future of health care especially for patients with kidney disease was something I wanted to be part of, and when asked, I welcomed the opportunity to work side by side, to share ideas and best practices. It has been a journey of discovery.
My practice philosophy is that I am part of a multidisciplinary care with the patient an active participant. I learned the value of care teams as a clinical pharmacist and have come to depend on them as a physician. Working here, it is not difficult to tap a colleague for assistance, or make a referral for a patient. There is attention to patient education that is so important to achieve goals and improve quality of life. I love to teach and working with patients has been a joy.
I travel a bit down 280 but enjoy the view. I see patients both in San Francisco, with the Chronic Conditions Hypertension program and in South San Francisco, in Nephrology.
In my leisure time, I enjoy reading, needlework and spending time with friends and family. Taking walks and using the treadmill lets me eat an occasional donut and helps to keep me fit.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
