Welcome to my home page...
I graduated with a Master of Science as a Certified Nurse Specialist in Integrated Health Practices (IHS) at Dominican University, San Rafael, California, 2006. That same year, I received National Board Certifications in Obstetrics & Gynecology and Neonatal Nursing Specialists and Advanced Holistic Nursing, and remain current. I'm currently enrolled at California State University DNP, Northern Consortium (NorCal DNP) Doctorate Program. My emphasis is on Public Health awareness-Organ and Tissue donation.
In 1987, I earned a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner Certification at San Jose State University. I also earned a B.S.N. at San Jose State University in 1984, where I majored in Nursing with a minor in Public Health. I also received certification as a Clinical Nurse Practitioner Specialist III in Maternal Fetal Medicine, 2003-present. Additionally, I received recognition for outstanding performance, member satisfaction, 1998-present. I currently teach Childbirth Classes, Diabetes Education, Lifestyles for conception, Mind Body Stress Reduction, Teen Awareness and Health Maintenance for Migrant Workers.
I joined the Permanente Medical Group in 1989, as a Maternal Fetal Medicine Nurse Practitioner in OB/GYN. My medical interests include Perinatal Obstetrics (high-risk pregnancies) and integrated health. I have co-managed the (LDYSS) “La Diabetes Y Su Salud” (Diabetes and You) classes at Santa Clara. I am a member of the American Diabetes Association, Kaiser Permanente’s Latino Association, Ambassador California Transplant Donor Network (CTDN) and I serve as a student mentor to high school students at Alum Rock and Santa Clara schools.
I have a beautiful daughter named Andriea and lost my wonderful son, Brandon, at the age of 18 years. Brandon was a donor and gifted many people with quality of life. As a result of the loss of my son, I have found peace in community outreach as a CTDN, ambassador. I enjoy gardening, jogging and the aroma of botanicals along with soft relaxing music.
My professional goal is to partner with all my patients in giving the best quality care in a respectful and caring environment.
