Welcome to My Home Page

I am a staff physician at the Emergency Department of the Kaiser Permanente Manteca Medical Center. I am proud to be a member of such an outstanding department and the medical group here at Kaiser Permanente Central Valley. I hope that we can always provide high quality of care and service to you.

About Me

I was raised and born in coastal western India, in the city of Bombay. My grandmother and my uncle are the ones who inspired me to become a doctor. Both of them wanted to go to medical school but didn’t have the opportunity, therefore, it was their wish for me to become a doctor. Personally, I see that the profession of being a doctor is very gratifying. In my culture, there is a saying, “we have to strive to achieve ‘swartha’ and ‘paramarth’. Being a doctor, I could achieve ‘swartha’ by gaining self-satisfaction through doing good to others. I could also achieve ‘paramarth’ by bringing satisfaction to those we serve.

I received my Medical Degree from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College at Belgaum, India. I completed a gynecology internship from Sydenham Hospital in New York and a general surgery internship from King Drew Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA. I completed my residency in Emergency Medicine from King Drew Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA.

I chose to be an Emergency Room doctor because this is the place where we provide immediate relief to the victims of illnesses and injuries; we can see the result right there and then. Prior to joining Kaiser Permanente, I worked at a county hospital emergency room for over 25 years; I felt that it is time for a change of location. I chose Kaiser Permanente because I believe in the strategy of the organization: to deliver superior quality and service at a competitive price.

My personal interests include playing tennis or any sports related to water. I am attracted to water and I especially like swimming. My wife is a gynecologist and she works for Alameda County Hospital for over 15 years. My son attends Washington University at St. Louis and he is now enjoying Australia as a foreign student.

Philosophy of Care

I will strive to do my best to alleviate individuals from suffering. I would like to share with you a little quote: “The planet sun is going on vacation and he asks whether any celestial or earthly bodies would like to cover his responsibilities to lighten the whole world. No one seems to want the humungous job, being no match to planet sun. Then a tiny candle slowly raises her hand and said, ‘Lord, I know I am tiny, but I will do the best I can to serve the world.’ ” My philosophy would be like the small candle, even though I am small, but I will strive my best to serve my patients and the community.

Your comments and suggestions are always welcome, and I look forward to seeing you at your next appointment.
