Background
I am an anesthesiologist and a pain medicine specialist and have been with the Kaiser Permanente San Jose Medical Center since 2007. I grew up in America’s finest city, San Diego. My family still resides in San Diego, and I return there whenever possible to visit them. I attended the University of San Diego as an undergraduate. I later moved to the East Coast, to Newark, New Jersey, where I completed my postgraduate training at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ). UMDNJ offered a comprehensive clinical training program where I completed a surgical internship and anesthesiology residency. I finished my clinical training at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois, where I completed a fellowship in pain management.
Chicago also holds a special significance for me personally as it was the place where I met my wife and got married. I subsequently moved to San Jose and was very happy not only to be offered this excellent opportunity here at Kaiser Permanente San Jose but also to be able to return back to sunny California. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends here in the Bay Area, San Diego, and Chicago, as well as traveling. I am also an avid sports fan and enjoy watching all sports.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
