Welcome, you finally made it here!

Thank you for visiting my web page. I hope we have useful information to cater for your health care needs. If you have any questions regarding your admission, you can feel free to contact me at the hospitals mentioned above and your concerns will be addressed promptly. If I am not available, one of my partners will be willing to answer any urgent questions.

As your Hospitalist, I will be focusing on you health care needs in the event that you get admitted to the Hospital. What do Hospitalists do? Hospitalists are physicians whose primary professional focus is the general medical care of hospitalized patients. Their activities include patient care, teaching, research, and leadership related to Hospital Medicine.

As I am a specialist in inpatient general internal medicine, your care in the hospital will be led, coordinated and managed by me. You will however have the opportunity to go back to the care of your primary care provider upon discharge from the Hospital. Once you are ready to be discharged, we will provide your primary care physician with adequate and detailed information of your inpatient care. If we have made any changes in your medications, we will take care of the initial prescriptions. We will also take care of your follow up appointments to see your primary care physician. Sometimes you may need to be seen by a sub-specialist in the hospital or the clinic. In case you need such services, we will make the consultation request before you leave the hospital, we have special nurses who help us to coordinate your care and discharge needs. These nurses and their assistants may pay you a visit in the hospital to determine your needs while on admission and to help you have a smooth transition home.

About Me

Now let me give you a brief information about myself. I was born and raised in Ghana, a small country on the South Atlantic Coast of West Africa. There is where I completed my undergraduate and medical degrees. After practicing in Ghana for a few years, I moved to New York where I completed the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Harlem Hospital Center.

I enjoy traveling and sight seeing. I also enjoy reading, especially the bible. I like old time Jazz. History and politics fascinate me but not to the point of becoming a historian or a politician. I imagine I could be a historian someday but perhaps never a politician.

I joined Kaiser Permanente in October 2000 and was among one of the four pioneering physicians to start the Kaiser Permanente Modesto Hospitalist Program. Within four years, we have seen a lot of growth and we have a larger team and are able to take care of our patients in two hospitals; Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock and Kaiser Permanente Modesto Medical Center.

I am proud to be a member of a highly motivated, compassionate and competent Hospitalist team who are dedicated to making sure your inpatient needs are well taken care of.

There are various good reasons why I joined Kaiser Permanente. One of the most important reasons is that I get to practice evidence-based medicine in a well coordinated multidisciplinary setting and I am allowed ample time to thoroughly work through a patient’s problem without interference from an insurance company. I believe my partners share this view as well.

My Philosophy of Care

As a Christian, I believe our profession is not just a mere job or business but a high calling. This gives us a unique opportunity to serve our community in a special way.

As you receive care from our team, you will notice how we pay meticulous attention to your needs. You will also notice that we place a lot of emphasis on disease prevention, and when we need help from other specialists to care for you, we do not hesitate to do so. We also pay particular attention to your safety and speedy recovery.

Your comments and suggestions are always welcome.

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
