Welcome to My Home Page !

I originally joined Kaiser Permanente as an internist in Fresno's Adult Medicine Department. When the hospitalist program was established over five years ago at the Fresno Medical Center, I became a fulltime hospital-based physician. As a hospitalist, I specialize in treating and caring for acutely ill, hospitalized patients with medical problems such as strokes, heart attacks, and pneumonia.

Over three years ago, I took on the responsibility as chief of the Hospital Medicine Department, which consists of ten well-qualified and experienced fulltime hospitalists. Each of our physicians takes pride in striving to provide the highest quality of personal care to our members.

When I am not taking care of you in the hospital, I am in the mountains hiking in the summer or skiing in the winter. I do a lot of traveling and enjoy exploring other cultures, music and cuisine. I read a lot, run almost daily and listen to classical and jazz music.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
