My Biography

I value Kaiser Permanente’s commitment to high quality comprehensive services and preventative medicine. Our integrative approach and online medical record system allow for ease of patient care coordination. These innovative aspects of care are important in fostering a long-term commitment to wellness.

I enjoy the ever-changing nature of genetics and the daily learning opportunities that are a part of my work. I strive to meet the challenge of tailoring a discussion of complex ideas to focus on individual patient needs. Areas of particular interest to me are metabolic disease, cystic fibrosis and pediatric genetics. I also have an interest in complex disease and am excited to watch the ways in which genetics continues to personalize medicine in conditions such as diabetes, asthma, cardiovascular disease, and cancer.

Many of our patients have complex medical needs and require a multidisciplinary approach to their care. Kaiser Permanente’s model of care simplifies this type of coordination, gives patient access to a large number of specialty clinics, and eases the process of genetic testing.

Outside of work, I enjoy surfing, art, music, camping and hiking. I try to stay healthy by eating a very healthy diet, exercising regularly and avoiding smoking.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
