Welcome to My Home Page

On this site you will find answers to many of your questions about my clinical practice. Also included are several online features that will allow you to e-mail me, check your laboratory results and refill prescriptions. I hope you find its content informative and useful.

My Background

I was born in Seoul, Korea then moved to Hawaii at the age of six. After spending parts of my youth in San Francisco and Los Angeles, I moved east to Baltimore and attended Johns Hopkins University. I remained in Baltimore for an additional four years for medical school at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. I then completed my ophthalmology residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City. I returned to the west coast to continue my training at the University of California San Diego where I completed a two year fellowship in Oculofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. I joined the Permanente Medical Group in 2010 and am happy to be back in Northern California.

Roles & Responsibilities

My practice encompasses oculofacial plastic and reconstructive surgery. My two years of fellowship training focused on reconstructive and cosmetic surgery of the face, eyelids, tear drainage system, and orbit (the area behind the eye). Those seeking cosmetic rejuvenation are encouraged to visit our multidisciplinary Cosmetic Services program with which I am actively involved. My goals are to provide the highest level of reconstructive and cosmetic surgery while improving my patients' quality of life.

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
