Welcome to My Internet Home Page

Welcome to my home page. I hope that through this medium I will be able to better serve you with the most current information.

About Me

I was born and raised in India and obtained my high school diploma from the University of Cambridge Local Examination Syndicate (UCLES). I obtained my medical degree and master in Orthopedic Surgery from University of Allahabad, India. I received my advance training in Orthopedic Surgery in the United Kingdom and earned M.Ch. Orthopedics degree from the University of Liverpool, England. I also had an opportunity to work full time in the Emergency Room in United Kingdom prior to moving to the United States.

I have practiced medicine in three different continents as well as countries; the experience has helped me understand and respect the diverse culture of Northern California.

I practice office Orthopedics and am part of the trauma and joint replacement team. I believe that quality care means keeping my patients well-informed. Therefore, I encourage questions and exploration of alternative treatments, including risks and benefits balancing.

I live in Stockton with my wife, Pratima, who is also a medical doctor. She is currently working for the University of California, Davis Health Systems and we have two lovely children. Our daughter has just graduated from University of California, Berkeley. She has been accepted to a US Medical School at New York and will be pursuing her aspiration to become a physician. Our son is a junior at University of California, Berkeley. They both aspire to become medical doctors in the future and serve the community.

In my non-professional time I enjoy swimming, tennis, jogging, hiking, playing keyboard or harmonium (Indian instrument), singing Indian light music and cooking.

My Philosophy of Care

My philosophy to medical care is that each person deserves the best possible treatment as I would like my own family members to be treated. I always try to be a good listener and take as much time to explain the condition and treatment to the patient as needed. I was drawn to Kaiser Permanente at Stockton because of the high quality medical care without any excuses. I was impressed by the focus on prevention within the system and to practice prevention is the best way to manage any medical condition, if that is an option. There are programs like Yoga and Ti Chi that any one can join, as an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. At Kaiser Permanente, I can strive to provide the best possible care due to our integrated team work and well coordinated health delivery system and I am proud to be a part of this organization.

Your comments and suggestions are always welcome, and I look forward to seeing you at your next appointment.

New patients in the Department of Orthopedics are seen by referral from your personal physician or nurse practitioner. Your personal physician or nurse practitioner will book your appointment with us directly during your appointment with them. In some cases, one of our nurses will call you directly for an appointment. Follow-up visits are scheduled as needed. My department and I want to be certain that all of your concerns are addressed, so if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call 209-476-2181. Thanks again for visiting my home page!
