Thanks for visiting my home page.
I was born and raised in San Francisco, where there is always more fog than sun. I followed the sun (and trail of bikes) to college at UC Davis. Then I moved back to the City and lived in the foggiest part of town while attending medical school at UCSF. My internal medicine residency took me 3000 miles away to Baltimore, where I finally experienced the four seasons. However, after being trapped in Johns Hopkins Hospital for 48 hours due to a severe winter snowstorm, I decided that I had to relocate to a more temperate climate. So, I moved to Nashville for my Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship at Vanderbilt University. Although I enjoyed living in different parts of the United States, there is no place like home. I am very happy to be back in Northern CA and to be living closer to my family in the Bay Area.
When I am not at work, I enjoy reading, cooking, running, hiking, and traveling.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
