About Me

My specialty is Critical Care and Pulmonary Medicine. I joined Kaiser Permanente in July of 2010. My practice is centered at the Oakland and Richmond Medical Centers. I oversee the care of ICU patients as well as evaluate outpatients for lung disease.

I am a Graduate of the Boston University Medical Center, where I completed a dual medical and graduate degree in 2001. I continued my training at Yale University specializing in Internal Medicine with a subspecialty in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. My areas of research have included B-Cells and Macrophages. I was fortunate to participate in some of this research in Paris, France. Although I enjoyed being a researcher, I was still clearly motivated to remain clinically focused. One of my most profound clinical opportunities was as a primary care and hospital physician in Deschapelles, Haiti. This experience solidified my commitment to patient care.

After completion of my tenure at Yale, I moved to New York City to practice as a pulmonary and critical care physician at New York University Langone Medical Center. For several years at NYU, my practice had a core focus of both Pulmonary Critical Care, with a concentration of the diagnosis and staging of lung cancers. I was a member of the faculty of New York University Medical School and continued the care of my patients after discharge in my outpatient practice.

Now at Kaiser Permanente, I am pleased to be associated with a world class organization where other physicians share, as I do, an enthusiasm for providing outstanding medical care with a patient centered focus. The Kaiser system provides and facilitates integrated physician and interdisciplinary patient services. This allows me to focus with more efficiency on the management of the medical needs of my patients.

When I am not at the Medical Center, I am exploring the sights, sounds, and diverse cultures of this magnificent city, cooking, or exercising.
