My Specialty and Why I Chose It

I am a physician assistant specializing in orthopedics. I chose orthopedics because I enjoy being in surgery and being a part of getting a person back to being active and functional. It is very rewarding to see someone who has a degenerative joint, broken bone or torn tendon and see them through their office visits and surgery to the point that they are functional again.

My Practice Philosophy

My goal is to provide patients with all the information they need regarding their problem and treatment possibilities, including surgery, so that they can make the most informed decision regarding their care. I listen to my patients' concerns and questions so that I can help them understand their condition and what to expect throughout their experience with us.

My Tenure with Kaiser Permanente

I came to Kaiser Permanente in January 2002 to work in general orthopedics. Before that, I worked in Southern California for a large orthopedics group in Rancho Mirage. At Kaiser Permanente, I see patients in clinic, assist the orthopedic surgeons with surgeries in the operating room and round on orthopedic patients who are in the hospital. Being in the hospital can be an uncomfortable experience. I strive to make patients more comfortable during their hospital stay by keeping them informed of the treatment plan, listening to their concerns and keeping them informed of their progress.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
